Piccadilly to start offering cafeteria, food services | Online Athens

Piccadilly Cafeteria is planning to expand its Athens operation to include food services for businesses, the company announced Thursday.

It is inviting area businesses, education and healthcare providers, and emergency response professionals to an open house 8-10 a.m. Thursday at its restaurant location at the Georgia Square Mall on Atlanta Highway.

?It?s a very exciting opportunity for Piccadilly,? said Katherine LeBlanc, a public relations spokeswoman for the company.

LeBlanc said the open house will allow its attendees to learn more about the company?s offerings, which include custom menus for its clients.

Its Georgia clients currently include a senior center in Atlanta and an electric plant in Savannah. The Athens open house is part of a larger push for Georgia expansion for the Louisiana-based company, she said.

While its services include custom menus, she said its their customer service that sets the company apart. The food services operation started in 2008, but the restaurant has been operating since 1944, she said.

?Their passion for customer service has kept them alive,? she said.

For every new client the food services side takes on, Piccadilly typically hires one or two new employees, she said.

To RSVP to the open house, contact Fiona James at (225) 296-8330 or fjames@piccadilly.com. For more information about its food services, visit www.piccadilly.com/foodservice.
