Elvis imitator has Garbageland on 'Hoarding'

TLC

Elvis impersonator Cary attempts to tackle his troubles on the season premiere of "Hoarding: Buried Alive."

The late King of Rock 'n' Roll had a grand estate in his Graceland home, but for Cary, a 51-year-old Elvis Presley impersonator, home life isn't anything to brag about. In fact, his love of all things Elvis, combined with his difficulty to part with nearly any item, has left him living in a memorabilia and cluttler-filled Garbageland.

When TLC's "Hoarding: Buried Alive" returns for its fourth season, viewers will get a closer look at Cary's living condition.

"When I'm dressed up like Elvis, I feel like Superman," Cary can be seen boasting in a sneak peek from the episode. "I'm the King of Rock 'n' Roll, man -- TCB!"

But while the real Elvis might have been a proponent of "Taking Care of Business," Cary's long avoided taking care of his personal business at home. That explains the stacks of collectables, piles of debris and discarded food littering the place.

"The real Cary doesn't exist anymore," best friend Joe explained. "There's the Elvis-Cary that gets up on stage and gets that attention and accolades that he's desperate for. And then there's the lunatic Cary. But there is no normal Cary."

Cary, of course, doesn't see it that way.

"I feel like I need more things and more things and more things," he summed up. "And it's hard for me to let go."

Very hard, as the clip proves. Amid cleanup efforts, tempers flared for Cary and Joe.

"Garbage is not money," Joe insisted. "It's not going to make you rich. It's going to make you a poor man with garbage."

Fighting back tears, Cary shouted, "I'd rather be a poor man with garbage than a poor man with nothing."

Find out how Cary's cleanup attempt went when the season premiere of "Hoarding: Buried Alive" airs July 8 at 9 p.m. on TLC.
